Kick Allergies in 2 Months! Allergy Drops Explained

Hi, this is Dr. Charlot from the Allergy and Asthma Care of Brooklyn here to talk about pollen allergies. So I know it's really cold outside and most of you are bundling up, but spring is around the corner. This is an opportunity for us to prepare and ensure you are prepared for pollen season.

We have a game changer and a new treatment to introduce here at Allergy Asthma Care of Brooklyn. And this new treatment is called sublingual allergy drops (SLIT). So drops are little bits of the allergens. For example, for spring allergies, a lot of people are allergic to pollen. And so what we do is we take extracts that are completely natural and made of tree pollen. And it's as simple as dropping a couple of drops under the tongue. And you do this on a daily basis.

What it does is it builds up your immune tolerance to the allergens. Your immune system becomes immune to tree pollen in this case, so that you can now be surrounded by tree pollen and do A-OK. Gone are symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itchy, watery eyes, or even asthma symptoms that are induced by tree pollen. Why? Because your immune system is tolerant to those benign allergens.

There are two ways to pay for sublingual drops.

You can either pay for the treatment all at once. It does require a 14-month commitment.

We have also partnered with a company called Cherry, which allows you to spread the payments over 24 months, and this will allow the payments to be as low as $62 a month.

So why should you think about treating your spring allergy symptoms now when spring is months away?

Well, it takes time to build immune tolerance to environmental allergens like tree pollen. With allergy shots, it can take up to 9 months to a year. But with sublingual drops, it can take as little as 2 months to get to your maintenance, which is your strongest dose. This is the dose when we see results. So if you want to have a good spring, now is the time to start your sublingual drops!
